The Mayor of Koukamma Municipality, Mr. Vuso on behalf of communities of the municipality wishes to congratulate the Kareedouw Town for winning Kwela Town of the Year Title 2020. The town was named winner of the Eastern Cape round of the annual competition, beating two of the Province’s well-known town, Rhodes and Port Alfred to claim the regional title. They proceeded to the National finals and won the Kwela Town of the Year 2020 in the country.
He appreciated all of everyone who have made it possible for Kareedouw Town to win the competition. He further appreciated the SANRAL who partnered with the Municipality and upgraded the R62 road and their social contribution in evitalizing the Kareedouw Town.
The administration of the local municipality is in Kareedouw, which will assist in boosting the economy of the area. As one of Tourism destination town, have been affected negatively by the Covid 19, having won the title, will put Kareedouw Town amongst the areas that people will be coming to visit and benefit the Tourist industry at large.
