Outlining the purpose of the day the Municipal Manager, Sabelo Nkuhlu said “the essence of being here is to officially celebrate the opening of a historical MPCC in our community of Mountain View. It is historical because it is the first MPCC to be built in Koukamma. We are here to also afford the Mayor as the political head of Koukamma Municipality together with councillors an opportunity to officially open this MPCC”.
“When things are going good, one doesn’t have words to say. This signifies history here in Koukamma and it starts here in ward 4, it is still to continue to other areas. We are here to hand over this MPCC officially to the community. Community members can now have government services rendered here closer to them and they will have this beautiful venue to do their weddings and funerals. Thank you to the contractor for producing quality work thus making us able to deliver effectively on the mandate we are given by our electorate on the ground,” said Mayor Sam Vuso.
The Chief whip Cllr Suze Jacobs thanked all the role players who made the MPCC a reality and these people included, the Mayor and Councillors, the consulting engineers and contractors, the Municipal Manager and Officials, the Sarah Baartman District Municipality and the community of Koukamma at large.
