The Corporate Services Department referred to as engine of any Municipality, is responsible for support services which include the Administration (Typing Services, Archives, Switchboard and Cleaning); Human Resources including Labour Relations, Payroll, Change Management (Organisational Development, Employment Equity and Performance Management System); and ICT. Corporate Services provide effective administration to Council and supports the legislative and executive functions of Council.
Human Resources formulated a Human Resources Strategy to enhance the Municipality’s human capital, its employees being its greatest asset. Human Resource Policies have been developed to institutionalize best practice with regard to recruitment and selection, employment equity, skills development, employee wellness, labour relation, performance management system and payroll.
This Unit is about 40km away from the main Koukamma Offices situated in Kareedouw; it plays supervisory role to all the various sub-divisions within that office.
ICT section is responsible for providing IT support to all the users of Koukamma, Compiling IT policy, configuration of systems, responsible for IT Administration, provide IT trainings and promptly responds to any queries received from the users(calls that are logged by users).
The administrative section plays a support role to both the Municipal Manager and the Director Corporate Services. It ensures that administrative processes take place smoothly and effectively. Corporate Administration strives to ensure that letters are replied to on time, which both Officials and Council has an effective telephone system, and that information is provided and queries answered effectively and promptly.
